When A Chicago Culinary Overhaul Goes International

When one of the world’s most prominent hospitality companies wants to roll out an all-new food and beverage menu across two of their top brands, they put their trust in Chicagoland’s top content creators. Hyatt Hotels and Resorts, a long-time client of Absolute Vision, recently implemented an enhanced and expanded menu for their long-standing select service hotels. The team at Absolute developed a custom solution for their training needs, exceeding expectations and excelling at conveying new procedure to their associates.

Updating a well-established menu is a challenge even for a small brand, and Hyatt is known throughout the industry for their dedication to quality and service. This meant that the pressure was on to create a clearly defined, easy-to-follow, and aesthetically pleasing training series to match. The shoot took place over two days, one in suburban Lombard, a suburb of Chicago, the other in Washington DC. The Lombard location took advantage of Absolute’s local Chicago advantage, where our team was able to assemble a specialty production kit, including overhead cameras and custom rigging.

After completing the local Chicago half of the production, Absolute took this custom kit on the road to the the Hyatt house in Washington DC. There, they brought the same exceptional production values and brand focus to a new location, despite challenging shooting in close quarters. Further collaboration between Absolute and Hyatt’s internal messaging and culinary division yielded even more innovation, incorporating menu designs and professional photography through motion graphics.

The final product consisted of eighteen videos, including sixteen “recipe” videos between the two Hyatt brands. The series came in on-time and beyond expectations, and was rolled out to tens of thousands of employees over Hyatt’s internal communications system, Hyatt Connect.
